Wonder Woman – Davido

It looks like Davido is winning the fave vs. fave battle with a respect for women.

The DMW boss and Afro-Pop singer’s just-released single Wonder Woman is an appreciation anthem for the women in his life and every other strong woman fighting to get hers.

The video, directed by Twitch features the mothers of his daughters Amanda and Sophia and his girlfriend Chioma alongside Tokini Peterside, Kah-Lo, Tara Fel-Durotoye, Uche Pedro, Omwumi, Adetutu, Hauwa Ojeifo, Abisoye Ajayi-Akinfolarin, Betty Irabor, Kaffy, Nadine Ibrahim, Misi Africa, and Fisayo Longe. Women who are all power houses in their respective fields and social media has been in a tizzy since.

Watch the video and find out why.

Meet the Mayor Of Lagos

Since the release of his debut single Eleko, DMW signee Mayorkun has become one of the few artists with no bad songs. The singer has continued to feed Nigeria good music and it is with joy inna mi left breast that I bring the good tidings of the release of his debut album The Mayor of Lag0s (TMOL).

Fever – Wizkid

On Independence Day, Wizkid dropped two hit songs Master Groove and Fever amid all the recent drama.  They were the Pop star’s first official releases this year as teasers off his upcoming album Made In Lagos.

The singer has been in the headlines a lot this final quarter of the year for both good and bad reasons, most recently defending his Best Male West Africa title and winning the Video of The Year (for Soco) award at the recently concluded AFRIMMA. The singer had also recently been called out on social media by the mother of his first child for being a “social media dad” and the just-released Meji Alabi-directed video for his single Fever is sure to stir up more controversy. The video for the up-tempo Afro-Pop track is colorful and stars Tiwa Savage as Star Boy’s love interest (sparking up more interest in their relationship: a PR stunt, a statement or both?) creating a very sexy vibe. Since its release this morning, the video has received a myriad of reactions with most fans trolling Wizkid (with his less-than-stellar fatherhood) and Tiwa’s ex-husband Teebillz (for his relationships with Wiz and Tiwa) and others comparing the video to Davido’s Assurance

Tiwa’s appearance in this particular video at this time was definitely intentional; Wizkid and Tiwa have been attacked a lot on social media this year for an alleged love affair (particularly since Wiz posted pictures of Tiwa on his Instagram page on her birthday in February). Her appearance may just be a publicity stunt – which fans will find hard to believe because the pheromones literally jump at you as you watch the video – but it definitely makes a bold statement akin to throwing the middle finger. The video is very sexy and in this writer’s opinion is in no way a ripoff of Assurance (with or without the controversy surrounding it), as it is a less stiff interpretation of when money enter, love is sweeter.

With Fever, Wizkid and Meji Alabi masterfully pulled a Kardashian and created a hit video with just enough controversy to keep tongues wagging. You should see it.

A rare. Debut – Odunsi’s First Album

Pulling off a debut project that will make history books is hard. Making music that is inter-generational is even harder, but Odunsi has done it. The singer’s debut album premiered on the PGM Live radio show last Wednesday, an amazing private listening party on Thursday and the official public release on all platforms finally came through on Friday.

rare. is Odunsi’s first debut and it’s taken this vanguard two years to come through with this project. While some fans were mad that it’s taken their fave so long to put out a compilation, one listen to this superstar quality debut and you’ll understand why. The project samples the Funk/Disco sounds of the 70s/80s and some spins on 90s Hip-Hop and this has to be the best spin on the sounds produced this year and with such a superb blend of sound, you can’t really hate Odunsi’s music. With rare. we see Odunsi take sole charge of his brand aesthetic, adding to the redefinition of what it is to be an African artist in this age.

rare. is successfully inter-generational and will go down in history as one of the best things to happen to Nigerian music since Fela

The album boasts features from mainstream and New School heavyweights: Runtown, Davido, Nasty C, Zamir, Tay Iwar, Lady Donli, Santi, Duendita, Amaarae, Hamzaa, Solis and 234Jaydaa. All the tracks on rare. are produced by Odunsi (save for Alté Cruise which was produced by Yinoluu, Take Me There produced by Le Mav and Outcast produced by Genio Bambino) with help from GMK, DJ Yin, Nosapollo, and Davido.

We waited two years to receive this piece of heaven and it should not by any means be squandered. Listen to rare. here.

Riton & Kah-Lo Are Serving With Foreign Ororo

British EDM producer Riton and Nigerian ‘monotonous rap’ artist Kah-Lo are a match made in heaven and they’ve proven that over and over again and now, they’re out with Foreign Ororo.

An unlikely pair, Riton & Kah-Lo made waves in 2016 when Kah-Lo was featured on Riton’s Rinse & Repeat. This was also the first time the world heard Kah-Lo’s sound and the song peaked at number 2 on the UK Dance Charts and went on to be nominated at the 2017 Grammy Awards for Best Dance Recording. In 2017, Kah-Lo released her debut single Fastaproduced by Riton and the hits haven’t stopped coming.

Foreign Ororo is a joint mixtape by both artists that features previous hits: Rinse & Repeat, Fasta, Ginger, Betta Riddim and Money (featuring Davido and Mr Eazi). The 14-track tape also has new party-movers like Catching Feelings (featuring Mr Eazi) and Up & Down. Foreign Ororo is exclusively produced by Riton and this tape is saying to us “Summer isn’t over”.

Listen to Foreign Ororo here.

Odunsi feat. Davido – Divine

Afro-fusion rising star Odunsi The Engine has finally put out the much awaited single that he once tweeted about working with Davido on.  The single titled ‘Divine’ brings together two very talented artists who are very much alike.  Both are producers, artists, and leaders in their own right,  championing their respective genres and sounds. This fusion of Odunsi and Davido is simply ‘Divine.’

Nwa Baby – Davido

DMW boss, Davido released the audio and video of his new hit Nwa Baby in the early hours of August 10, 2018. The song which premiered exclusively on the PGM show on Wednesday evening is described as the star’s biggest hit yet.

The video, directed by Meji Alabi sees Davido and his girl in the classic Bonnie and Clyde relationship; only this time, Bonnie has no qualms in driving off with the loot and leaving Clyde behind to take the fall when the police get really hot on their tails and naturally, Davido ends up behind bars.

Love is a literal crime here and we love it.

The PGM Radio Show (Ep 4), featuring Myoa & Idris King

This episode features Myoa, who came all the way from Houston Texas to grace the stage for the launch of the PGM Live Show in January 2017.

The show also features the young hip-hop sensation and co-founder of The 90’s Baby Movement, Idris King.

Also, a discussion ensued over the alleged fracas between Ice Prince Zamani & Davido, raising the following questions:

1.) Should artists really be worrying about who closes the show at a concert?

2.)  Does it really matter who closes the performance at the event?

3.)  Do these things connote respect?

Listen in guys and have a blast !!!
