In the wake of her recent signing to Universal Music Africa, award-winning Ugandan singer, Irene Ntale has released her major debut, titled ‘Nyamba’.
Last week Wednesday, August 21, Universal Music Group Nigeria unveiled Irene Ntale as its latest signing, their first-ever act from Uganda. This is no doubt a move that sets the East African star on the path to continental dominance and global recognition, and she is wasting no time, kicking things right off with this release.
‘Nyamba’ is a sultry number that finds Irene Ntale openly declaring her affection to her love interest. Over the soothing and melodious record, there is a soulful realness in her delivery woven in English and Luganda her local dialect that cuts across her wide-ranging audience.
This record is also highly rich in instrumentation with a lopped strutting guitar riff that blends so smoothly with her sweet voice. A radio-friendly jam, this is no doubt a scintillating feel-good record that has overwhelming crossover potential.Post Views: 383

Mayorkun scored a big one with ‘Geng’. Released to kick off the year, the song has been one of the most successful Nigerian songs in the past couple months. The song also generated it’s viral moment when it dropped with several acts jumping on the beat to deliver their covers. This cultural moment has now morphed into a four-track EP the DMW star titles “Geng Remix.” This compilation includes remixes from different geographic zones featuring an all-star cast of Kwesi Arthur, Ms.Banks, Ricky Rick and others.
For the Naija remix, Mayorkun taps some of the best rappers we have around, feilding a super team of Sinzu, Ycee, Vector and M.I. Over the all too familiar Quebeat-production, Sinzu opened the floor with a fire verse which we had initially heard on Twitter. Sinzu rides the beat like a wave with a bullish delivery that set the bar high for the other rappers coming behind. Ycee followed up with his cheeky verse enwrapped in multiple flows. Vector, however, did not live up to the hype, coming through with a lukewarm verse while M.I came out guns blazing at detractors to close the record.
Enjoy this record above and let us know who you think killed it.Post Views: 208

After being outside the spotlight for a hot minute, Ice Prince recently dropped a fire EP he calls C.O.L.D.
This amazing 8-track body of work features amazing New Age talents like Remy Baggins (who produced Tour 254, Shut Down and Space Funk which he also features on) and JethroFaded. With how great the music content on C.O.L.D is, it won’t be presumptuous to say that this is the Uncle Zamani’s much-awaited comeback (vocals, bars, production – everything) and Ice Prince is collecting all debts.
Space Funk is a track for the ladies and it delivers funk vibes that your body will have no choice but to move to; even if you’re a hater. Remy Baggins definitely did not hold his production beast back on this one and his vocals aren’t lacking either; talk about double trouble.
This author is definitely getting her Space Funk on!!
