As the Nigerian music industry continues to grow and evolve, music in the Nigerian movie space also continues to grow with it. Once upon a time, not a lot of thought and attention were paid to soundtracks that accompanied movies but all that is rapidly changing. Not only has the quality of soundtracks improved,  artists have now gone ahead to create soundtrack albums for their visual content. A favourite is Basketmouth’s “Yabasi” which was such a huge hit.

Top actress Funke Akindele has released the video to her movie “Omo ghetto The saga’s” original soundtrack titled “Askamaya Anthem”. The video consists of Funke Akindele herself, Chioma Akpotha, Eniola Badmus and Bimbo Thomas, all expressing their badassery with sick punchlines. The mix of igbo and yoruba rap flows naturally and beautifully . “Askamaya Anthem” was written by Martinsfeelz and Kobi Nwamama. The video was directed by Funke’s husband JJC skillz and is an excellent teaser as to what happens in the movie. To watch this, click here
