Tomi Owolabi; Tomi Owó is a singer/songwriter whose journey began in 2016 with her one-song-a-month project; Pieces. The project was released in 2016 and since the singer has continued to mesmerize with her beautiful voice. The singer has been vocally compared to Jhene Aiko and Sade, though she has described her music as containing bits and pieces of Pop, Soul and afro-inspired sounds all coming together to create a genre she has termed ‘Alternative Soul’.

We discovered Tomi Owó when we came across her acoustic cover of Angelique Kidjo’s Agolo (a part of a series of covers she released on SoundCloud and Youtube called Nostalgia Sessions) and we were completely floored by her how beautifully she owned the song.

Versus is a love song that is part of her project Pieces and it is produced by her brother IBK Owolabi and Odunsi The Engine. The song is two years old and the singer finally released the visuals four days ago. It is her first original music video and it was directed by Seun Owolabi who is also her brother. The video uses light and silhouettes to convey the vulnerability and strength experienced in love and we don’t think there could be a better interpretation of this amazing song.
