Nonso Amadi Reveals Title Of His New Project

Earlier this month, Nonso Amadi confirmed on Twitter that he would be releasing an EP in June. And to the delight of many, the EP now has a name.

In an interview with Pulse NG, Nonso Amadi revealed that the coming project is titled “Free” and would contain five tracks. Although, there is no precise release date for its release yet, he further confirms that it would be released next month.

“So, I’m planning on dropping a project sometime in June – the date to be announced soon. But a lot has gone into the project – like almost three years. Since around – the release of – ‘Tonight’ I’ve been working on the project. I’m really excited about it and it has some dope features.” He says in the interview.

The title of the project is ‘Free’ and it’s to express like being free; like ‘freedom,’ and all that. It’s just to say, you know, regardless of the pressure that most artists face and all that, this project was created out of a liberty of creativity. Like I’m not trying to match or compete with anyone. It’s a very interesting sound to hear, and it’s something I want people to listen to while they’re driving or chilling, not when you’re trying to… It’s not made for you to go to the club necessarily. It’s a chill song, it’s Nonso Amadi.

“It’s five songs at the moment. It’s in post-production, it’s almost ready. There’s a lot of international feel to it. It’s not something only Nigerians can appreciate. Ghanaians can also enjoy it; Americans all that, so yeah.”  He continues.

He also discusses his infamous 2017 performance, his debut EP “Alone‘” as well as his stint as a rapper.

Listening To Bigfoot & Femi Leye’s ‘Fireflies’ Is The Best Form Of Self Care

Femi Leye is the latest in the long list of artists to work with Bigfootinyourface this year, particularly on his Downtempo Friday series. On the eighth instalment of the highly collaborative weekly series, both acts join forces to create a brilliant work of art titled ‘Fireflies‘.

Femi Leye, a popular multi-talented guitarist who has toured several continents including North America and Europe with the 79th Element bad which he co-founded with Adekunle Gold has also worked with the creme de la creme of the industry including Burna Boy, Brymo, Don Jazzy and Tiwa Savage.

On this record, Femi Leye’s skill as a guitar mastreo is on full display as he delievers a masterful lengthy but piercing solo over the background sound of a burning fireplace. This is a song best enjoyed lying faced up while staring at the clouds with your earphones plugged in at the loudest volume. Thank me later.

Definitely a record for the soul. Enjoy

When I got pregnant I was nervous to tell you so I decided to tell you at the airport when we were traveling for a show. I figured you couldn’t really say much in a public place 🤣🙈 but then you told me you already knew and had already been thinking of a plan to keep my brand going while I took some time out.

I was shocked because you weren’t phased by the news, you had already started making plans. I recorded the RED album while I was heavy and I would fall asleep during sessions and you and the whole team would crash in the studio right there with me till I woke up again and was ready to finish recording. There was nothing you would hear about me that ever made you mad, no outfit was too crazy, no headline was too controversial for you to handle no crazy outburst no nothing.

If I said today wasn’t emotional for me I would be LYING. Please promise me that our relationship will never change. I only want to make you proud of me. Not every super hero has an S on their chest. You are my superhero DON DORO BUCCI. 7 years, 7 the number of perfection. I LOVE YOU ALWAYS AND FOREVER. Mavin 4life #DiaFada 💪🏽🙏🏼❤️” She wrote.

Congratulations Tiwa Savage.

Simi Parts Ways With X3M Music

Popular Nigerian singer, Simi has parted ways with her record label, X3M music after five years. This comes just after a few days after the successful release of her critically acclaimed third studio album, “Omo Charlie Champagne” which is still topping charts all over the country.

Simi’s exit from the label is reported to be as a result of the expiration of her recording contract.

Unlike most label-artist splits in the Nigerian music industry, this is a very peaceful and amicable departure, as both parties decided not to renew the expired contract, according to Vincent Nwanze, the A&R executive of the label.

Over the course of her time at the label, Simi grew from a burgeoning alternative sensation into one of the biggest acts in the country. Ever since singing with X3Min 2014, Simi has scored a number of hits and also released two acclaimed albums including the culturally and commercially successful self-titled album “Simisola” which bagged the album of the year award at the 2018 Headies.

According to X3M’s management, “We only sign artists that we love and believe in. We know our taste in music is rather different, but we only sign talents who meet that taste. Fortunately, we have been able to find millions of music lovers here and abroad, who share similar tastes, as is evident in the success of all the artistes we have worked with, including Simi who is without any doubt one of the biggest music talents in the country today…

Although Simi is yet to confirm the news on her social media pages, we at the PGM Club wish her all the best in her future endeavours.

Muyiwa Akhigbe And Rhye Ali Release Joint “Conversations” EP

Muyiwa Akhigbe, a gifted soul singer who now doubles as a rapper has teamed up with rising lyricist, Rhye Ali and producer, Trill Xoe to create and release a new joint EP titled “Conversations“. This project which is actually Muyiwa’s sophomore EP is a highly experimental one for the act as he leaves his comfort zone to create a thematic hip-hop project with a skilled rapper.

True to its name, the 9-track EP opens with a recorded phone conversation in which Muyiwa reaches out to his partner-in-crime Rhye and convinces him to work with him on this project. This, however, is just the first of five conversations in the project, each one recorded over the instrumental of the following record. Through these conversations and records, these artists present a soulful realness and detailing to their realities as youths and young creatives in this country.

This is, therefore, a highly relatable project as the pair rap and discusses topics and themes that every twenty-something in this city should familiar with.  As mentioned earlier, this EP is solely produced by Trill Xoe and engineered by David Rotimi. Enjoy.
