The Nigerian singer, songwriter and song arranger grew up writing poems and listening to various types of music. Early exposure to her mother’s original compositions and extensive record collection can be seen in the quality of her songs. Her sound is soulful yet mellow, elegant yet unafraid and her vocal dynamics aureate and wide-ranging. Emotive and moving can be said to be spectacular features of her life performances. The singer states classics, indegenous sounds and soul as her musical influences. Tomi Owo’s style cuts across soul, jazz and R&B.

Her debut 5 Song EP ‘Pieces’ was birth in 2018 following her resolve to do at least one song a month while working a 9-5. This was to explore her sound and songwriting and also help her stay in touch with what mattered most to her. She considers music a gift and channel through which stories can be told to inspire change, hence her lyrics are based on everyday experiences.

The remix E.P to her song, Beautiful contains remixes done by by various artists and producers using various styles and genres. Masterkraft does an afropop remix with percussions and complex intersecting rhythms. But he doesn’t leave it at that, he also does an Amapiano remix. This new south African House music is a hybrid of deep house, jazz and lounge sounds characterised by staple keys, signature shakers and cloud-like pads. It gained precedence in the mid 2010s and has been described as the sound to which the sun turns.

Major League DJz also have an Amapiano remix on the EP. The South African duo are known for inculcating kwaito music into modern music for a unique, urban sound. Ghanian DJ, TMSKD pronounced as The masked and Sigag, Nigerian Producer and Dj both explore the song, Beautiful, this time with EDM but in completely different ways. TMSKD goes hard while Sigag’s remix is very soft bringing a unique, sonic experience to the E.P.
