Angèlique Kidjo has released “Africa, One of a Kind,” the first single from her forthcoming album, Mother Nature to be released on the 18th of June. This is a follow up to her collaboration with Yemi Alade on “Dignity”. This new song has Mr Eazi from Nigeria and Salif Keita from Mali whose original work was sampled. The singers celebrate their roots and ancestry on Africa, One of a kind.
“We are all Africans and the blood of Africa runs through our life. This song, which I recorded with one of the icons of the new generation of African artists, is a declaration of love to the continent. We want to change the way it is portrayed and show its beauty to the world,”
says Kidjo as she explains the song.
On her “Mother Nature” album, Angélique joins forces with innovative artists across a number of genres, including Burna Boy, Sampa The Great and many more.
The video for the song depicts the singers accompanied by dancers dressed in traditional outfits, in Antokpa, Benin, creating a very visually stimulating experience. Watch and Enjoy.
