Ycee Comes Through With His Sultry Melodic Rap On ‘Dakun’

Just a few days after announcing the release of his debut album “Ycee vs Zaheer,” Ycee has unveiled the first single off the long-awaited LP, titled ‘Dakun‘.

Produced by Krizbeatz, ‘Dakun‘ is a midtempo Afropop record that finds Ycee dolling out complementary melodic raps for his love interest. He promises to love her right and therefore pleads with her to succumb to his advances.

It, however, seems like Ycee’s label troubles arent just over yet as his former label, Tinny Entertainment, leaked some of the records off the coming album to sabotage its release. But Ycee looked unmoved as he goes ahead with the rollout of the album like nothing even happened.

Remember that “Ycee vs Zaheer” which is now available for pre-order officially drops on Friday, November 8.

Alpha Ojini Is Bringing Along M.I Abaga, Ghost, GoodGirl LA, Ycee, Oxlade And More On “Chvmeleon”

Even if you do not know Alpha Ojini by name, you must have come across his work one way or another. Remember that sweet-toned “Focus” voice tag you hear at the end of most of your favourite 2019 rap songs? Yeah, that’s Alpha’s tagline for his sound engineering outfit.

A bundle of talents, Alpha is also a producer and a rapper – and he’s absolutely great at both. In fact, he was recently nominated in the Best Rap Single category of the 2019 Headies for his joint with Payper Corleone, ‘Sacrifices‘, one of the highlights off Payper’s stellar tape, “Fly Gangstar From The 90s.”

And now, it’s even more good news from Alpha as he announces the release of his sophomore album, “Chvmeleon,” which has been in the works since December last year. This is would be a follow-up to his well-received debut, “Half Price” that housed standouts like ‘Ocean Boy‘, ‘Ludo‘ and the cheeky ‘Yahooboy Muzik‘.

According to his recent tweet, this new album is scheduled for release on Friday, November 1st and it boasts a mouth-watering round of features, with appearances from some of the best wordsmiths in the game at the moment. On this self-produced project, Alpha is bringing along an a-team of M.I Abaga, Ghost (SDC), Paybac, Blaqbonez, Psycho YP, Ycee, Bella Alubo, Oxlade, Goodgirl LA and Kemi Smallz.

Now, tell me you’re not excited?

DAP The Contract Releases The Second Entry Off His CTIII Series Titled ‘Good Bad Bad Good’

Last week, DAP the Contract kicked off the third instalment of his Contract Thursday series with a solo effort titled ‘Prismcolors’. And now, premiering on the PGM Club, the rapper is joining forces with Sumner Becker on the second release off the CTIII series titled ‘Good Bad Bad Good‘.

DAP the Contract was on the PGM Radio Show a couple of weeks ago to discuss the string of weekly Thursday releases while also giving us a peek into two tracks off the series – ‘Prismcolors’ and ‘Bryn’s Interlude‘. He was also kind enough to drop a fire freestyle alongside other razor-sharp wordsmiths like Payper Corleone, Idris King, D-Truce and Ycee.

The American-based rapper, who tries as much to shuffle between his home and host country is now taking time amidst law-school work to put as much music. The Contract Thursday (CT) series finds DAP off album mode, as he experiments different ideas and explores diverse sounds, swinging in and out of genres over a stretch of weekly releases.

Good Bad Bad Good‘ is a very short affair. Spanning just below two minutes, it fades off just while you’re trying to getting into it, nudging you to promptly hit the replay button. Over a wavy instrumental with a mild trap bounce, rolling hi-hats and an ambient jazzy sax solo, DAP and Becker ponder upon the strapping pull and allure of the ‘bad’ side.

Enjoy the number above and tell us what you think.

Zamir Is Blunt And Vicious On ‘Anti’ With Ycee

Zamir has teamed up with Ycee for his new single titled ‘Anti‘. This is Zamir’s first release since his year-opening Kida Kudz-assisted jam, ‘Jan 1st‘.

The new Tochi Bedford-produced single is no doubt one of the hardest hip-hop records out of Nigeria at the moment. It has this dark and intense feel to it with trippy keys and hard-hitting kicks.  Zamir sets the record straight that he’s anti-social and just wants his space and circle as tight as it can get. “I don’t like people, yeah I know” he declares as he opens the record.

In his verse, Zamir also recounts his musical journey and his emergence in the music industry. Ycee’s verse finds the ANBT Ceo delivering one of his best feature performances this year with a polished flow and airtight delivery.

Directed by Ademola Falomo, the video finds the wild and free pair chilling in the neighbourhood amidst bike and car stunts.

Ycee Reveals Title Of Long-Awaited Debut Album

Rapper and label boss, YCee has revealed the titled of his long-awaited debut album. The project which will also serve as his ANBT debut seems to be a battle of self as the album is titled “YCee VS ZAHEER“.

Earlier today, the rapper who just released a sizzling record ‘Gold‘, which has been gaining traction on the airwaves, seemed to be having a very good day. He then took to his Twitter to reveal the coveted information, although according to him, his team won’t be too happy about the action. “My debut album is titled  “YCee VS ZAHEER” he wrote.

The rapper also previewed some unreleased tracks which are suspected to be a part of the album.

Although no other major information has been released as regards the project, it is perceived that the album would be dropping very soon.

Despite that “YCee Vs ZAHEER” would serve as Ycee’s debut album, the singer is no stranger to recording and releasing projects as this would be his third official body of work. In 2017, he released his Tinny Entertainment debut, “The First Wave” which housed the smash-hit ‘Juice‘ with Maleek Berry. The following year, he released a joint EP with then-labelmate, Bella AluboLate Night Vibrations” to good reviews.

The rapper, of course, has had quite a busy year, as he unveiled his imprint, the ANBT Company very early into the year and released also a firey hip-hop single ‘Balance‘ in celebration of his 26th birthday.

Ycee Is Living The Life On New Fire Jam ‘Gold’

Ycee has released a new single titled ‘Gold‘. This comes a just few months after he flexed his lyrical ability and bullish delivery on the year-opening ‘Balance‘.

Produced by BeatsbyKarma, ‘Gold‘ is a radio-friendly pop single that finds a chilled Ycee delivering his verses with a perfect blend of melodic rap with a polished flow. He also delievers a repetitive but catchy hook that gives the record its hit-potential. It is an unapologetic celebration of his lifestyle and affluence that will resonate with a lot of his fans and music lovers.

“Someday, the gold you were depending on to have your back on rainy days – might peel and reveal its true self; coated steel.

Some days, the pain might be so unbearable that it makes you question your process, doubt yourself and get all up in your feels.

Even when you are oppressed by society, law enforcement, government, label executives, Lagos traffic 😒, or even friends from hell and it makes you question your sanity or sink to unfamiliar depths.

Through it all, the most important thing remains – you are the “Gold”, you are Gold. Forged at the elevent hour despite all the heat and tribulations.

You must never ever forget, Gold never depreciates.” He wrote on Instagram

The video is expected to be released next week, so watch this space for it.
