Khaligraph Jones x Sarkodie – Wavy

Multi-award winning East African rapper, Khaligraph Jones releases Wavy featuring Ghanaian veteran, Sarkodie. Prior to Wavy’s release, the Kenya rapper had bragged that African hiphop would not remain the same and boy, did he deliver.

The first verse starts with Khaligraph spitting hard, fire lines over the sick beat created by Motif the Don. The rapper alternates between English and Swahili to decapacitate his adversaries and establish himself as the fly, wavy man that he is. Sarkodie takes over the next verse bringing it to a climax rapping in his usual native tongue reminding us why he is one of the best to ever do it. The duo compare themselves to Ronaldo and Messi and while that might be up for debate, the lyricism and dexterity employed in this song cannot be denied.

Both rappers make cars their main props as they are seen rapping beside and inside different cars. Khaligraph in a red Toyota Crown and Sarkodie a rolls royce. The video  was directed by Blu Ink corp. Already, the official video released a day ago has over 50,000 views and if you want to see it, click here.

Interlude 3 – Wavy the Creator x Zamir

Since H.I.G.H, Wavy the Creator has put out a series of interludes – projects that are softer and more intimate than her usual art.

The singer’s mates single and third interlude, aptly named Interlude 3 produced by Genio Bambino features rapper Zamir.

Wavy recently released the official video for this interlude via her VERY RARE VIBES channel on YouTube. The video was directed by camera-bender TSE and SAN V.

An impressive thing about this video (and Wavy’s general visual expression) is how clearly you can see that she is the centerpiece of the art. TSE’s command of colour is seen in the video but you can easily see how heavily Wavy herself is inspiration for the video.

PIAC – Andre Wolff ft Ayuu & WavyTheCreator

Voulez Vous Coucher Avec Moi (CE Soir). If ever there was a dancehall interpretation of this famous French phrase; this would be it.  Andre, Wavy, and Ayuu; all with their different styles and flavors come together to serve a cool islandy track you cannot deny. Including a sampling of different songs: Snoop Dogg’s Murder Was The Case, Carolina (Sauce Kid ft Davido), and a sprinkle of Wizkid’s Tease Me providing just the right amount of nostalgia, and lyrics that are less than prude.

PIAC is definitely a tune to plug in this summer.

Omagz, Wavy The Creator, What You Like!

If you’ve been following the banter between Omagz and Wavythecreator on social media, you’d be happy to hear that this new single by Omagz, featuring Wavythecreator is not just hype. ‘What You Like’ is everything we Good Music Lovers like.

The ease with which Omagz and Wavy glide through their verses on the song with such harmony, makes you wonder if we have found a new music duo shift aside Banky and DJ Yin.

‘What You Like‘ a mixture of electro and progressive house with a little bit of afro sprinkled on it, tells the tale of love between two minds trying to conquer their world and their hearts.  In it, Omagz keeps his voice soulful and steady, ‘burning the city with his desire’ while Wavy keeps things high as she always does with her vibe.

The production is beautiful, the kicks loop in a luring tone and the snare drum keeps your heart beating at a pace that keeps you in motion. The song is definitely different, like most of the new music emerging from the vibrant Nigerian youth music scene.

We at the club are happy to share this music with our PGM Community!
