Show Dem Camp Takes A Trip Down Memory Lane On ‘That Year’ With Sir Dauda

Nigerian rap duo, Show Dem Camp has come a long way. Right from their well-received debut album, “The Dreamer Project” in 2011, down to their latest, “Palmwine Express,” Ghost and Tec have seen it all. They’ve scored nationwide hits, had projects ignored by the mainstream, and again bounced back with the cultural and commercial successes of their Palmwine Music series. Right now, they are even selling out their own annual live show, Plamwine Music Fest.

It is all this and more they document on their latest release. Titled ‘That Year’, Show Dem Camp takes us on a quick trip through the years of their exploits in the Nigerian music space with this record. In fact, the single is dedicated to the “day 1’s” who have been following that journey from the very beginning.

Three long years after their ‘Live, Love, Laugh, Eat’ collaboration off the critically acclaimed “Clone Wars 3,” the pair reunites with the sweet-singing Sir Dauda for ‘That Year’. They also secured help from their longtime friend and collaborator, Ikon who produced the track.

‘That Year’ is Show Dem Camp’s first single of the year, coming five months since “Palmwine Express.” The star-studded album whose guestlist contains frequent collaborators BOJ, Ajebutter 22 and Ladipoe. It also features Nonso Amadi, Moelogo, Tomi Agape, Worlasi, Flash, Burna Boy, and Falana.

Listen to Chillz’s Debut Album “Good Vibes, Vol. 1”

Ever since coming to the attention of many following his contributions to M.I‘s 2018 “Rendevouz” project, multi-talented singer and producer, Chillz hasn’t wasted any opportunity to leave an impression. Either on his own records, like the Mayourkun-assisted ‘Grateful’, or his appearance on Falz‘s seminal album, “Moral Instruction“, Chillz takes every chance to prove himself as one of the most talented singers rising through the ranks. And now, he has put out a project that will put away any persisting doubt.

Late last month (June), Chillz released his debut album, “Good Vibes, Vol.1“, a 9-track project including the pre-released ‘Grateful’ and ‘Chop Life‘. And on the project, he brings along Falz, Mayourkun and Sir Dauda who helped to add new flavours on the tracks in which they appear.

Production-wise, the “Good Vibes, Vol.1” is an entirely solo effort, save for the title track, ‘Good Vibes‘ which was produced by TMXO. Generally, the album is filled mostly with mid-tempo, soft, and melodic songs which are so easy to sink to, filling you up with positive energy.

Most of the songs are crafted from personal experiences, particularly ‘Grateful’, which was borne from a thankful heart after Chillz survived a ghastly motor accident in 2018. With brilliant songwriting deployed on every track that gives a soulful realness to his lyrics, punctuated with nuanced but ever soothing vocals, the tape has a vibey and personal touch that makes every track relatable and sure to give you a feel-good listening experience.

This tape comes highly recommended from us at the PGM Club. Enjoy!

Aramide is finally releasing an album which is set to be out in November.

The Alternative and Afro-Soul singer announced that her debut album will be called ‘Suitcase’ in a video.

She says:

I’ve been on this journey, me and my guitar.

I would never trade my experiences for anything because they are what have brought me this far.
Some days have been like the blues and have got me wishing on a star. Some other days have been like jazz with so much melody and the drive of a 1970s car.

Today I welcome you to take this journey with me as I put together a suitcase full of who I am. With my music, I will share the sounds in my ear and the feeling in my heart. With my music, I will give words to your thoughts and synchronise with the beating of your heart. This is my suitcase, but it is very much like yours.
