Smarty Lee drops “2021 No hype” featuring Peruzzi

Smarty Lee wbo received a little bit of traction for his “Tule” track earlier this year has dropped “2021 no hype” featuring Peruzzi.

Smart Lee advises listeners to not hype 2021 as this was what destroyed 2020. We should take it easy and not be in a rush this year. It narrates the story of a young man determined to make it and cash out this year. It descends tragically into fast money rituals, the death of his sister and the eventual loss of his sanity. The general message is to take it easy. Be patient and move slow and steady.

He has previously released tracks like Yahoo girl, mumu man, If no be God etc.

Phyno and Peruzzi spill the tea on the paths many undertake to wealth acquisition on “For the money”

Peruzzi, DMW vibe machine and Phyno fine o, team up to give us a scintillating tune on “For the money” produced by blaq jerzee.

Phyno renders his verse in igbo inflecting English here and there to dilute the verse a little for his non-igbo listeners. He begins to talk about the hardship everyone faces, following his pace and taking his time to hustle, stopping the wagging tongues of doubters. He pleads to God to bless his labour preventing it from being futile and in vain. He is ready to go hard for the money and rejects dying without accomplishing his dreams.

Peruzzi also surprisingly renders his verse in igbo. He feels the same as Phyno, reiterating minding his time and not comparing his to others. He also wishes to prove doubters wrong too making them cower in shame.

The chorus goes into detail spilling the tea on the extent to which people would go for the money, from prostitution, to brothers and friends killing and betraying one another, to pastors deceiving and robbing their congregation blind, to others studying hard and even  those travelling abroad to hustle for the money.

This jam is about the hustle, the grind, the sacrifices all in the pursuit of money, what they will do and the the various means they will undertake to get it. Quite an enjoyable highlife jam and should definitely be bursting through your speakers. Click here to listen.

Peruzzi releases new music ‘southy love’ with Fireboy DML

Peruzzi releases new track called ‘Southy love’ produced by P.Prime. This is a quick follow up to his hit single ‘Isolova’. Southy love infuses Amapiano and Afrobeat and was taken from his much anticipated 14 track album ‘Rum and Boogie.’ However, no offical date has been announced for its release. “Girl i want see you tonight
I go catch flight come see you tonight
Ewoo girl i want see you tonight!
I go catch flight come see you tonight

Cos this distance is killing me for sure
So give me ponmo
I want this your love

Peruzzi Has A Word Or Two For Detractors In New Single ‘Lagbaja’

After going AWOL for a minute, Peruzzi is here with a new single, ‘Lagbaja’. This is his first single since fan-favourite jam ‘Gunshot’ which was released earlier this year.

Despite Peruzzi’s enormous undeniable talent and support from one of the biggest labels in the country, DMW, the singer hasn’t exactly had the smoothest sail to stardom. He has been in the mainstream consciousness for a while now but there just seems to be glass ceiling preventing him from breaking even. The most notable obstacle has been the long-drawn battle with his former record label, Golden Boy, who seems bent on getting its pound of flesh. Also in the thick of the lockdown, Peruzzi was accused of sexual harassment which he denied. But not long after, the embattled singer left Twitter altogether.

Prior to this accusation, Peruzzi appeared to be having quite a productive lockdown and he didn’t fail to let us know about it. Pictures of him recoding in makeshift studios flooded social media, particularly an exciting one which saw vocal god, Wande Coal with him recording in the studio. And ever since, fans have been wondering what is in the works.

Well, new music is finally here and fans are already loving it. With a perfect blend of the dated galala sound and Afrobeats Peruzzi addresses detractors, telling them “you can’t spoil my shine.”

Enjoy the single above.
