Santi Releases Debut Album “Mandy & The Jungle”

The wait is finally over! Santi has released his highly-anticipated debut album titled “Mandy & The Jungle“. This comes three years after his acclaimed EP “Suzie’s Funeral“, which placed Santi in the radar of many as one of those to hold the helm of the industry in a few years.

Mandy & The Jungle” is a 16-track full-length project that includes pre-released singles like ‘Sparky‘, ‘Freaky‘ and the monster-hit ‘Rapid Fire‘.

This highly collaborative project features Tay Iwar, Nonso Amadi, Shane Eagle, Dram, Kris Irie, Bridge, Amaarae, Seki, Tomi Agape, Kida Kudz and Godlink. Also, its production is mainly handled by fellow Monster Boys – GMK and Genio Bambino with assists from Odunsi (The Engine), Le Mav, Higo, Doz, James Isibor, 1Takennandos and Barst.

Just like his previous projects, this album is a themed one.  In fact, this is centred around Mandy (a fictional character), who Santi describes as “a girl who has no idea the power that lies inside her

Further speaking about the album, he reveals that “Over the past two years, I learnt more about expressing myself and translating that feeling into sound and visuals. Music has always been about the feeling for me, what it does to you, what it makes you remember, and most importantly where it takes you to. I decided to create a universe, combining everything that has ever influenced or inspired me.”

The songs are a soundtrack to this universe, and I hope when you listen to ‘Mandy & The Jungle’, you will make the best memories with them so that each time you feel like escaping, reminiscing or feeling, these songs are here to take you to your own universe.” He continued.

So cop this album, and follow Mandy on her journey in the jungle.

Interlude 3 – Wavy the Creator x Zamir

Since H.I.G.H, Wavy the Creator has put out a series of interludes – projects that are softer and more intimate than her usual art.

The singer’s mates single and third interlude, aptly named Interlude 3 produced by Genio Bambino features rapper Zamir.

Wavy recently released the official video for this interlude via her VERY RARE VIBES channel on YouTube. The video was directed by camera-bender TSE and SAN V.

An impressive thing about this video (and Wavy’s general visual expression) is how clearly you can see that she is the centerpiece of the art. TSE’s command of colour is seen in the video but you can easily see how heavily Wavy herself is inspiration for the video.

Watch Interlude 3 here.

Listen To Wavy’s ‘Interlude 3’

We’ve been schooled to expect WavyTheCreator’s soothing sound; even though you’re never truly prepared for it, but have we ever heard a calm Zamir?

On Wavy’s latest Interlude 3 produced by the doctor Genio Bambino, the rapper’s vocals are almost husky as the pair weave a sexy interaction.

Rapid Fire – Santi ft Shane Eagle, Amaarae

Santi’s 2018 hasn’t had just good music, the man has shown skill as a filmmaker too. He directed and produced the video for Freaky and directed the video for Odunsi’s falling.

The streak of videos continues with the release of the visual for Rapid Fire. Santi’s found-footage, 90s Nollywood horror video style continues with this montage. The tagline at the end ‘Sorry, we don’t have any candles’ makes the video even more interesting.

Mixed reactions have come for this video (as usual). While some of us think this video is dope, there are others who (interestingly) are now sure that Alte is a cult.

If you have not watched the video, you should.

Santi’s New Single Is An Ode To A Fun Time

Santi has a great year with tracks like Icy and Freaky and some amazing features like Odunsi’s Alté Cruise and Tay Iwar’s SpaceThe young master is back with Rapid Fire featuring the Warrior Princess, Ghana’s Amaarae and South African Shane Eagle.

The Genio Bambino-produced joint is very 2000s Dancehall vibes, with a gangsta twist. A cool verse from Shane Eagle, a vocal transition From Tomi Agape moves the listener from Santi to Amaarae’s beautiful soft vocals and the combination of all these ingredients makes this international pot of stew very tasty.

The song, released earlier today is another perfect weekend jam and is another guarantee of Santi’s musical versatility.

A rare. Debut – Odunsi’s First Album

Pulling off a debut project that will make history books is hard. Making music that is inter-generational is even harder, but Odunsi has done it. The singer’s debut album premiered on the PGM Live radio show last Wednesday, an amazing private listening party on Thursday and the official public release on all platforms finally came through on Friday.

rare. is Odunsi’s first debut and it’s taken this vanguard two years to come through with this project. While some fans were mad that it’s taken their fave so long to put out a compilation, one listen to this superstar quality debut and you’ll understand why. The project samples the Funk/Disco sounds of the 70s/80s and some spins on 90s Hip-Hop and this has to be the best spin on the sounds produced this year and with such a superb blend of sound, you can’t really hate Odunsi’s music. With rare. we see Odunsi take sole charge of his brand aesthetic, adding to the redefinition of what it is to be an African artist in this age.

rare. is successfully inter-generational and will go down in history as one of the best things to happen to Nigerian music since Fela

The album boasts features from mainstream and New School heavyweights: Runtown, Davido, Nasty C, Zamir, Tay Iwar, Lady Donli, Santi, Duendita, Amaarae, Hamzaa, Solis and 234Jaydaa. All the tracks on rare. are produced by Odunsi (save for Alté Cruise which was produced by Yinoluu, Take Me There produced by Le Mav and Outcast produced by Genio Bambino) with help from GMK, DJ Yin, Nosapollo, and Davido.

We waited two years to receive this piece of heaven and it should not by any means be squandered. Listen to rare. here.
