It eventually escalates to gunshots and lives lost. The video best interpretes the idea of bravery, warring and survival expressed in the song.

I don’t want no more pain
I don’t want no more drama
I don’t want cry no more
I don’t want fall no more
I’m still standin’ my ground
But all these bumps surround me
I don’t want cry no more
I don’t want fall no more

Fireboy DML Releases Sophomore Album, “Apollo”

YBNL and Empire golden boy, Fireboy DML has released his sophomore LP “Apollo” in the early hours of Thursday, August 20.  The album titled after the Greek god of healing, music and poetry contains a total of 17 tracks, including pre-released singles like ‘New York City Girl’, ‘Tattoo’ and ‘Eli’. And unlike his debut album which was an entirely solo effort, this album contains features from Wande Coal, D Smoke and Olamide.

The latest single from the album ‘Tattoo’ finds Fireboy DML girl-crazy yet again as he wants to be stuck on his woman like a tattoo. One thing you’d always appreciate from a Fireboy record is that his tight pen game is always on full display, laid out with pristine vocals and a soothing delivery; and this new record is no exception.

‘Eli’ is a sonically refreshing number that beautifully blends Afropop, dancehall elements and coated with Japanese sounds. And like most of Fireboy’s singles, this record finds him wailing about the effect a woman he calls Delilah has on him. He appears to be crazy in love and suddenly realises he’s no longer in control. In the infectious hook, he relentlessly calls out for help, “someone come save me from Delilah.”

‘New York City Girl’ on the other hand finds Fireboy holding on to a fleeting romance with a tourist; the girl from New York. They have both taken an interest in each other in her stint here and have shared some beautiful times. But sadly, it’s time for her to leave.

This is a romance that was just supposed to be a fling. However, Fireboy seems to have caught the bug and wants it to last longer, even if it’s just one day more. Ideally, he’d want her to leave her man – waiting for her at the other side of the Atlantic – and elope with him. But he knows that might be reaching a bit too far, so he’d gladly settle for one more loving moment with her. One more dance.

For the production of this album, Fireboy works with a capable team of Type A, iamBeatz, P .Prime, and Pheelz who had the major workload, producing a total of nine tracks. Pheelz also works on the engineering of the album alongside ST and TY Mix.

This album “Apollo” comes barely a year after Fireboy’s smashing debut “Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps” which remains a huge cultural and commercial success. It is even branded as the best album of 2019 in many corners. It is also worth mentioning that this album would make Fireboy DML the first YBNL act asides the label boss Olamide to drop a second album under the label.

Fireboy DML Draws Us Closer To His New Album With ‘Tattoo’

Ahead of his sophomore album “Apollo” scheduled for release on Thursday, August 20, Fireboy DML has released a new single titled ‘Tattoo’. This is the third single leading to the album coming just a couple of weeks after ‘Eli’ and ‘New York City Girl’.

This coming album titled after the Greek god of healing, music and poetry comes less than a year after his debut and is 17 tracks long. And going by these singles, it appears that like his debut “Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps”, this new album will contain no features.

The new single ‘Tattoo’ finds Fireboy DML girl-crazy yet again as he wants to be stuck on his woman like a tattoo. One thing you’d always appreciate from a Fireboy record is that his tight pen game is always on full display, laid out with pristine vocals and a soothing delivery; and this new record is no exception.

The accompanying Calrance Peters-directed video is a lovers’ delight. It is a visual that shows Fireboy and his woman living the best of times enwrapped in each other’s arms.

Fireboy DML Unveils Japanese-Themed Visuals For ‘Eli’

A couple of weeks ago, Fireboy DML broke his 6-month long hiatus with his 2020 debut ‘New York City Girl’. And despite the initial excitement that came with the arrival of a new Firbeoy single, what came next was a wave of mixed reviews with many feeling it could have been more. And now, it appears Fireboy isn’t wasting any time to restore our confidence as he has released ‘Eli’, his second official single perceived to be leading the road to his coming project.

One thing that has kept ears and eyes glued to Fireboy’s craft is how he makes such beautiful music taking the road less sonically travelled. He and Pheelz have forged a relationship that allows them to repeatedly push boundaries with each release and we’re absolutely here for it.

The YBNL star has been the toast of music listeners ever since his smash hit, ‘Jealous‘ came to mainstream consciousness early in 2019. The highly infectious record single-handedly catapulted him to nationwide recognition, acceptance and success. He has since been repeatedly referred to as one of the new guards taking over the Nigerian music industry. And with his critically acclaimed award-winning debut album “Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps”, Firbeoy proved we weren’t wrong all the while.

Reminisce Brings Along Fireboy DML, Tiwa Savage And His Daughters On “Vibes & Insha Allah”

Except you’ve suddenly found yourself in the North Pole with a rotary dial for a phone, you must have heard that the self-acclaimed Alaga ibile Reminisce has a new project on the way. And after weeks of a very amazing rollout, the much-teased EP “Vibes & Insha Allah” is finally here. This EP is the first project from Reminisce for about four years, coming after the well-received “El-Hadj” album which dropped in 2016.

This EP contains just six tracks with features from Firebody DML and Tiwa Savage in the fourth and fifth tracks. He also opened the project with a cute soundbite from a conversation with his daughters Mo and Fatimah Safaru.

A couple of days ago, he gave us our first peek into the material with the Fireboy DML-assisted ‘Ogaranya’. He also linked up with his friend and longtime collaborator Sarz for an amazing production. Over the steady lamba production, Remience adds ogaranya to his already long list of titles. He works up a fine party starter off the back of braggadocio rap and a stunning infectious hook from the Fireboy.
