Alpha Ojini Is Bringing Along M.I Abaga, Ghost, GoodGirl LA, Ycee, Oxlade And More On “Chvmeleon”

Even if you do not know Alpha Ojini by name, you must have come across his work one way or another. Remember that sweet-toned “Focus” voice tag you hear at the end of most of your favourite 2019 rap songs? Yeah, that’s Alpha’s tagline for his sound engineering outfit.

A bundle of talents, Alpha is also a producer and a rapper – and he’s absolutely great at both. In fact, he was recently nominated in the Best Rap Single category of the 2019 Headies for his joint with Payper Corleone, ‘Sacrifices‘, one of the highlights off Payper’s stellar tape, “Fly Gangstar From The 90s.”

And now, it’s even more good news from Alpha as he announces the release of his sophomore album, “Chvmeleon,” which has been in the works since December last year. This is would be a follow-up to his well-received debut, “Half Price” that housed standouts like ‘Ocean Boy‘, ‘Ludo‘ and the cheeky ‘Yahooboy Muzik‘.

According to his recent tweet, this new album is scheduled for release on Friday, November 1st and it boasts a mouth-watering round of features, with appearances from some of the best wordsmiths in the game at the moment. On this self-produced project, Alpha is bringing along an a-team of M.I Abaga, Ghost (SDC), Paybac, Blaqbonez, Psycho YP, Ycee, Bella Alubo, Oxlade, Goodgirl LA and Kemi Smallz.

Now, tell me you’re not excited?

Bella Alubo Announces New Project Coming In Just Three Weeks

In the wake of the release of her Zlatan-assisted ‘Agbani‘ remix, singer and rapper, Bella Alubo has announced the release of her next EP scheduled for release on Friday, October 18. The project titled “Summer’s Over” would be the follow-up to her “re-Bella” EP which was released to good reviews in December last year.

The 7-track project housed standouts like ‘Aiya‘ and ‘Ask Bolaji‘ and featured appearances from acts all over Africa including BOJ, Efya, Victoria Kimani and Sho Madjozi.

Bella revealed this on Twitter as she posted “EP out in 3 weeks ❤️” alongside a stunning picture of herself.

This coming project is expected to contain her 2019 releases including ‘Agbani’, the Lady Donli-team-up on ‘Unavailable‘ and her duet with Fasina, ‘Your Way (Long Time)‘.

Listen To Bella Alubo & Fasina’s Joint ‘Your Way (Long Time)

Burgeoning new gen acts, Fasina and Bella Alubo have joined forces to release a new single titled ‘Your Way (Long Time)‘. This is a product of the two kicking it at a studio in London where Fasina is currently based. The record also serves as Bella’s first post-re-Bella EP release which she dropped last year.

Produced by 4la Powers, ‘Your Way‘ is a mid-tempo, Afro-swing cut with a chilled vibe that gives it huge replay value. The sultry jam finds both acts motivated by mild intoxication, flirting with each other and toying with the idea of taking their relationship to the next level.

Enjoy!

Listen To The First Track Off Bella Alubo’s Forthcoming Album

Hip-Hop/Pop artist Bella Alubo is back from a short break with the release of the single Aiya of her forthcoming EP re-BELLA.

The Tinny Entertainment signee has had a bunch of great features this year – the most recent being Savage with Deena Ade, but she’s been laying low for a while.

Speaking to More Branches, Bella says: ‘It’s good to lay low sometimes. helps with planning & strategising for perfect evil genius execution (haha). I pretty much was doing a recording camp for months & it’s been a little hard not to feel pressure from people wondering what’s been happening and wanting a new release but it meant people were waiting on my music & that’s great to know’.

re-BELLA is Bella’s third EP and it is currently up for pre-order on iTunes.

Deena Ade & Bella Alubo Are No Holds Barred – Savage

In June, Deena Ade released Melo as a teaser for her debut album and in May, she released the project The Cries of My Subconscious, the second full body of work from the artist since her 2016 EP Side Chic.

Skepta & Wizkid Are Alté Cruising – Bad Energy Video

We’ve seen a recent wave of videos pay homage to 90’s Nollywood with the VHS-style footage (the peak being Santi’s self-directed Freaky video); an aesthetic many would attribute to the Alté Movement.
