Ayra Starr, the new break out star from Mavin, releases visuals for the first song off her debut EP

Ayra Starr, the new break out star from Mavin Records has released the visuals to the first track off her debut EP “Ayra Starr ” dropped a few days ago. “Away” is the first song on the EP. The official video released a few days ago shows the young star clad in black with a sword in hand, holding her lover captive. She begins to sing on walking away from an immature lover refusing to deal with his bullshit as seen in these lyrics;

“Understand
Understand I won’t
Understand I won’t be the girl that use to cry
Cry about a man that never came through
He dey lie
All the time
Let’s talk about a fool
Yahhh yeah
You keep talking but you’re tripping
Yahhh yeah
You keep talking

Pre Chorus:
So When you gonna understand
You can never be the man I stan
You can never be the one for me
Take away your trouble
And leave me be”

The following scenes show the star dressed in White and then dazzling Blue with her dancers. Mid way, the words “love yourself” flash by. The video ends with the singer restraining herself from dipping her sword in her lover’s heart.  Rather than kill him, she walks away.

On the song, the singer says;

Away is not just a heartbeat song, it’s a song that empowers you to stand up to that thing or person that is causing you sadness.

The video was directed by Kewa Oni and Seun Opabisi.
