Gbona – Burna Boy

Twitter spoke, and Burna Boy has delivered. Starting his UK Life On The Outside tour on the 7th of October, the hitmaker asked fans if he should drop another hit before the start of the tour, and of course, we said yes and what a jam Gbona is.

The single is Burna’s first solo project since he dropped his very successful sophomore album Outside. The song produced by Kel-P is accurately titled, as Burna Boy accepts his accolades and blows his trumpet with lyrics like ‘OluwaBurna, mo gbona feli…’. Since the release of Outside, Burna Boy has been featured on a handful of hits including Sauti Sol’s Afrikan Star and most recently, Major Lazer’s All My Life.

Gbona highlights Burna Boy’s heavy inspiration by Fela Kuti without being a bootleg copy. Burna’s ability to pay homage to the Abami Eda and Afrobeats while still honing his own sound proves just how talented he is and we’re very sure Gbona will become another anthem.
