The Mavin Records star, Rema who just got activated this year has no doubt had a rapid ascent in the Nigerian music scene, with one of the year’s biggest songs to his name. On his debut and introductory “Rema” EP, the young singer showcased his talent, versatility and knack for melodies just across four tracks. With cuts like ‘Why‘ and ‘Corny‘, and Headies-nominated ‘Dumebi‘, Rema established a foothold in the industry, quickly registering himself as a household name. And ever since, the growth has been sporadic with Rema topping charts and dominating the airwaves all year long.
Following up with incessant viral freestyle videos and his trap-dominant “Rema Freestyle” EP, the young singer proved he was no fad as he swiftly established himself as frontliner in what journalists have referred to as a “change of guard” in the Nigerian music scene.
And now, just a few days after his nomination in the coveted “Next Rated” category at the 2019 Headies award, Rema is making a strong case for himself by releasing a new EP – his third in less than eight months – titled “Bad Commando.” In usual Rema fashion, this 4-track EP is an entirely solo effort that finds him swinging between genres and experimenting with diverse sonic complexities.
Standout cut – ‘Bad Commando‘ & ‘Lady‘
