Mavins Records‘ raving star, Rema released his second project in just four months yesterday, June 20, titled “Rema Freestyle” EP. This is a follow-up to his well-received debut and introductory self-titled EP, “Rema” which housed records like ‘Ironman’ and ‘Dumebi’ which are still enjoying their dominance on the charts. In fact, the accompanying visuals for both singles have recorded over a million views, an enviable achievement for the singer who was introduced to the world just a few months back.
Since the release of the EP, the 18-year old singer has been keeping his social media presence at an optimal level, delivering sizzling freestyles on his pages which have now been compiled into this tape.
Therefore, the “Rema Freestyle” EP is a four-track EP that also includes his viral ‘Spiderman‘ freestyle. A very brief project, the tracks off the tape average about two minutes, with the total project spanning just about eight minutes.
The “Rema” tape released in March showcased the act’s versatility, crossing and bending genres such that it helped to introduce him to the Afropop audience as well as cater for his trap and Emo audience. However, this new tape finds Rema at his most comfortable as he majorly delievers fire verses over trap and Emo-type beats.
Rema is no doubt a talented and versatile artist with an amazing work ethic. And if he keeps this energy up, we might just be looking at the making of a superstar.
