Just a few hours ago, Naira Marley released the video for his latest single ‘As E Dey Go’. This is the rapper’s third official single of the year, coming months after his ‘Aye’ and his ‘Dido Lobo’ freestyle.
The video in its own way contributes to the growing calls for a stop to rape and sexual harassment of our women. This is an issue we at the PGM Club have been bringing to the fore over the past weeks. In fact, we had Chioma Chuka from Tech Her on the show last week with Douglas Jekan to shed more light on the raving issue. In this new video, Naira Marley makes a clear stance against rape culture. He and a host of Marlians can be seen coming to the rescue of a lady who is being harassed. The perpetrator is later seen suffering different levels of punishment.
This is quite an admirable move from Naira Marley and we, therefore, use this an opportunity to also encourage others to use their platform to speak out on these issues as well. We have to hold ourselves accountable.
Enjoy the video above.
