Kaylu releases drill record titled “Para”

Obimtochukwu Chukwukelu aka Kaylu has released a new drill record titled ‘Para’ featuring Daddyluwa and Droxx. The track is a fast tempo rap song that speaks of the goal-driven, fastpaced lifestyle of a young Nigerian hustler. Listen here

Kaylu’s music is an eclectic rendezvous of HipHop, RnB, Afrobeats, Afroswing, Trap and Drill. Over the years, Kaylu has also collaborated with artistes such as Tsuni, Peggy, Inçi, Nakie4000, Bawa, Zen Univrse fka Lectrik and Koziii fkaKaydee TR.

Kaylu is a Nigerian Hip-Hop recording and
performing artiste, songwriter and producer. He officially began his career as a solo artiste with the release of the single, ‘Sayonara‘, in May 2016. He then followed up with the release of his single, the fast-paced juvenile anthem ‘Give Them‘ in May 2017. Months after the release of ‘Give Them’, Kaylu bagged the Nigerian Teens Choice Award for Choice Hip-Hop Artiste in August 2017. He continued in the same year with performances at Origin Fest, Verano Fest and Summer Fiesta, before ending a noteworthy sophomore year with the release of single, ‘Vibe‘ and a performance at his own show, Tanorama.

2018 came with two more releases in April and
October respectively—the laidback, witty ‘Ride
and the equally laidback, NakelTBG-assisted
Cruise‘ which received nationwide airplay with interviews on Inspiration FM, City FM and Cool FM, garnered thousands of plays on streaming platforms in its first month of release thereby earning him a performance at The Basement Gig as their discovery act of the month. 2019 ushered in two collaborative releases: ‘Undercover‘, with Ebi D and ‘Flex‘, featuring Brainee. He would go on to perform at the Mainland Block Party as their Next MBP
Performer in September 2019, as well as open
for two popular Nigerian rappers, Blaqbonez
and Ycee at their respective shows and end the
year performing at the Island Block Party in
December 2019.

After racking up tens of thousands of streams on all streaming platforms in 2019 alone, Kaylu was at the pole position for his debut tape, Millennium Boy, which he equally teased in December 2019. Released on January 24, 2020, Millennium Boy peaked at #34 on Apple Music’s Top Albums.

Furthermore, Kaylu debuted his urban clothing brand, Eternal Drip, in December, 202 with the “Global” drill freestyle. After a first half year that was mostly quiet in 2021, Kaylu released the Single ” Rendezvous” May 27. It served as the lead single to his second EP “Flipside” which was made available on July 15, 2021.

He has appeared on media platforms such as BellaNaija, The Push Good Music Club , Pulse.ng and Accelerate TV. Kaylu is one of the artists pushing for a new era of Rap music in Nigeria.
