Just days after announcing the dates for his Johnny’s Room Live II, Johnny Drille has released a new single, his fifth of the year, titled ‘Count On You‘. This single which he describes as the “greatest love song” comes two months after ‘Papa‘, an ode to father released in June.
Over piano keys, the sweet-singing Johnny Drille reaffirms his affection for his sweetheart. He is assured of her love and relays to her how beautiful he wants their life-long romance to be. A soothing and heartfelt ballad, this record takes one back to the Westlife days. The gifted singer and producer has a long-term dedication to only putting out good music, and this, no doubt, is a solid addition to his catalogue.

Lately, several African artists have been drifting from the norm and exploring other genres of music – We at the PGM Club embrace the freedom of expression in music, wholeheartedly.
Fasina’s ‘tomorrow’ produced by Yinoluu, who also produced Ayüü’s ‘4uü’, and is on the rise known for constructing his sounds to merge with the balance and form of the artist’s voice and sound, is a classic example. This new single is breezy and has a warm, indie flow, completely different from his last single, 5 Star
The vibe is everything you need for the summer. His many references to Nigerian slangs such as ‘Warri no dey carry last’ makes the song as a whole very Afrocentric! And adds a comic twist to what started off as a heartbreak song.
It’s the typical love story, many of us may find ourselves relating to this song. Fasina explains the complications of falling in love, the familiar drake line ‘feelings change’ pulls on many heart strings.
Nevertheless, despite the endless circle of back and forth as he explains, he’s just not ready to let go. Sounds familiar, right?
Hopefulness is bliss, the title ‘tomorrow’ is filled with the intent of anticipation.Post Views: 222

With two massive singles, multiple awards, a stellar Coachella performance and a couple ambassadorial deals secured in just six months, you can’t deny that Burna Boy is having a good year. And it’s even about to be better. The dreadlocked fusionist is set to release his new album, “African Giant“, later this month. In fact, you can pre-order the tape right now on iTunes, Apple Music and Google Play.
In less than three weeks, we would be treated to the follow-up to his seminal project “Outside“, which scored an impressive 7.7 rating on Pitchfork, a top American review site. The album/ mixtape – or whatever Burna chooses to call it- housed hits like ‘Heaven’s Gate‘, ‘Streets of Africa‘ and ‘Ye‘ which saw him tilt the balance of power in the industry and establish himself as “one of Nigeria’s preeminent musical ambassadors” in 2018.
Scheduled for release on Friday, July 26, the album “African Giant“, is titled after his self-ascribed nickname popularized following his infamous Coachella font-size rant on Instagram earlier this year. The project is set to be 19 tracks-long with the total listening time spanning about 1 hour, 4 minutes. The album contains all his afrobeat-laced post-“Outside” releases including ‘Gbona’, ‘On The Low‘, ‘Dangote‘ and the raving ‘Anybody‘. Unified by their apparent Afrobeat influences, we knew these records were building up to something bigger and gladly, our suspicions have been confirmed.
The singer has also shared what is perceived by many to be the official album cover of the forthcoming project although he hasn’t confirmed that yet. Hopefully, in the next few days, we’d get to see the tracklist and the featured acts on the anticipated project.
Earlier today, the singer was unveiled by Apple Music as their new ‘Up Next‘ artist and the consequential film is set to be released next week Tuesday, July 16.
