Darey Reaches Out To The Heavens In Colourful Visuals For ‘Jah Guide Me’
After a quite lengthy self-imposed hiatus from the active music scene, Dare Art Alade, popularly known as Darey is back with a new single titled ‘Jah Guide Me’. If you are conversant with the Nigerian music scene in the early 2000s, chances are that Darey must have been one of your favourite acts in these parts for a while. He had a unique sense of artistry, a polished delivery and near-perfect execution to his ideas, be it songs, music videos or live shows. But some years back, he took a step back from frontlines, working with other acts to take their art to the next level with his outfit, Livespot.
“Just like many of you, 2020 has so far, brought a handful of uncertainties my way. But the fact is that God isn’t surprised. So I guess it’s up to all of us to submit and be led…. #JahGuideMe #Aug14,” he shared on his Instagram pages, announcing the single to the delight of many.
Produced by the serial hitmaker, Pheelz, ‘Jah Guide Me’ – as the title implies – is a cry for help unto God. On the smoothing and soul-lifting track, Darey has his hands stretched to the heavens calling for divine guidance and aid. This is no doubt a record that would resonate with many, giving the tough times we’ve had to endure over the past few months. It fills us up with the hope that there’s somebody out there that’s surely looking out for us.
The accompanying video is directed by Mex Ossai and Dare Art Alade himself, and it is a very colourful visual that drives the essence of the record straight home.
Enjoy the record above.
