Fast rising Nigerian singer, Major Heyjay delivers his first single of the year “Salo”. Salo is a follow up to his previous single “Original Love”. He has also released tracks like Terminator and many others. Major Heyjay definitely seems like one to watch out for.

Welcome to PGM Sounds of the Week a series where we round up the music that currently makes up our playlist. In this edition, we have a little bit of everything, from Ozzy B to Saeon to Remy Baggins. Enjoy !
Ezi Emela – Chineke Meh
Ezi Emela is once again on our radar and this time she is back with another single that will grab your attention once you hear it. The new single is called Chineke Meh and it just had to make our playlist this week
Odunsi – Situationship ft Aylo
What a year, 2016 has been for Odunsi! His first release since his critically acclaimed EP Time of Our Lives, Situationship featuring Aylo, will leave you lost in the vibe. It’s one of our year-end favorites and was even in the top 5 most viral songs on Spotify worldwide this week.
AKA – The World is yours
AKA’s new single is an immediate favorite. The electro beat is mellow but still exciting and AKA as always packs a punch lyrically.
Ozzy B – Gangster Fear ft Odunsi
Suzie’s funeral is one of our favorite projects this year and it’s lead single, Gangster fear featuring Odunsi makes the playlist this week. This song is all sorts of wavy and it has a sick video to match.
J.Cole – Everybody Dies
With his 4th studio album, 4 Your Eyez Only, dropping today we just had to have a little Cole in our playlist this week. On Everybody dies, he flat out disses the so-called next generation of Hip-Hop, the ‘Lil-somethings’ as he put it. We eagerly await his album and advise that you get it as soon as it drops.
Moelogo – Rora Se ft Adekunle Gold
Moelogo’s Rora Se is an uplifting record, backed up by a smooth guitar and drum based instrumental. Moelogo and Adekunle Gold deliver an emotive and impressive collaborative effort on this one.
Remy Baggins – Want You
Want you’s sick fusion beat immediately stands out but Remy Baggins makes sure it wasn’t just about the beat balancing it out lyrically.
A dance track to set the tone for the Christmas season.
Benie Macauley & Tomi Thomas – The Parolz
What do you get when you match an audacious afro house beat from Benie Macauley with the immaculate and unique vocals of Tomi Thomas? Musical Magic, that’s what.
Saeon – Aii
Another Sizzler from the BoyChick, Saeon Moruda. Produced by DWill, this track has us anticipating her forthcoming project ‘Birth of The #BoyChick.’ we hope you enjoy it as much as we have.
SDC – BMW ft Funbi
SDC always take their time when releasing new material, but it’s always worth the wait. BMW is bedroom music supreme and they had Funbi spice it up.

She gave us The Ultimate Jon Bellion mashup last year and this year, Efe Oraka is making us think.
Late last year Efe Oraka released the first single off her forthcoming Magic EP, taking us to Wonderland. Now, this amazing young woman is crying for us to wake up from The Nigerian Dream (produced by Cheso). This thought-provoking single has Efe calling out the Nigerian system’s lack of priorities, sweeping important issues under the carpet and generally insulting the intelligence of the Nigerian public, and the absurd culture of living in excess. Efe also talks about the desensitization of Nigeria to mental health as she sings Oh but the kids are messed up… so messed up/Let’s just pretend that they’re not stressed/‘Cause “Nigerians don’t get depressed”.
This young woman’s take on the notion of ‘the Nigerian Dream’ is one that requires a proper listening and The PGM Club implores you to listen properly to Efe Oraka’s words.

New on our watchlist is the young rapper known as Alpha. He is not necessarily a new kid on the block but he is definitely one to watch out for.
His new single Yahoo boy is a song that humorously tells the story of a day in the life of a fictitious Nigerian cyber scammer. On a larger scale, the song seeks to lend a voice to the current conversation about curtailing cybercrime and curbing negative impressions of the “Nigerian Prince” to the outside world.
We at the PGM Club are keeping a close eye on this guy. He definitely has something going for him.
