Chike drops highly anticipated studio album “The Brother’s Keeper”

Nigerian Highlife and R&B singer and songwriter, Chike has released his highly anticipated studio album titled  “The Brother’s Keeper“. He had dropped the track Hard To Find” ft. Flavour as a foreshadowing of what to expect from his new album.

In 2020, many were introduced to Chike through his debut album, Boo of The Booless which got listeners hooked on its compelling lessons about, among other things, love, hurt, heartbreak, death and forgiveness with tracks like “If You No Love, Roju, Forever, Amen, Insecure, Out of Love, Nakupenda, Finder’s Keeper” etc. His new work builds on that foundation to cement Chike’s identity as the quintessential lover boy. While you might expect his new album to explore familial or platonic relationships, it anchors itself more towards erotic love. This might make one question the album’s title choice. Asides from that, the album captures the romantic beginnings of a relationship till its horrific decline. The singer goes through an array of emotions, from excitement to despair to numbing his pain with alcohol. He doesn’t forget to sing an ode to his motherland Africa with South African singer, Azana.

The album contains 16 solid tracks; On The Moon, Tell Am, Spell, My Africa, Hard to Find, Winnee, Bad, Zamo, Pour Me A Drink, You Deserve, Enough, Moving On, Good Things, God Only Knows, Nothing Less, Nothing More and Please. He collaborates with Flavour, Ycee, and South African singer Azana. Listen to TBK here
