About three weeks after the initial announcement, one of Nigeria’s most promising acts, Buju, has released the long-teased remix of ‘Lenu’ featuring Burna Boy. This comes alongside the official announcement of his signing with the African Giant-led imprint, Spaceship Records. This would be Buju’s second release in 2020, coming just a couple of months after his ‘Mind Games’ team-up with Ejoya music.
Spiced with a very catchy sing-along hook, ‘Lenu’ was one of the records that propelled Buju to the limelight in his breakout year, 2019. Now coming through with a remix vocally backed by the hitman, Burna Boy, this club-friendly jam looks like a very good effort to usher him into the next level of his already promising career.
The accompanying visuals is a high school-themed video directed by the current go-to guy for top-notch visuals, TG Omori. Across the video, Buju goes about his day in school with an air that screams fly school kid. Burna Boy in his part plays the role of the big brother who helps boost his school rep coming to pick him up in a super cool convertible Rolls Royce. Buju is later seen mouthing his verse in a beautiful white house with Sia-styled models.
Just a few weeks back, Buju had a brief fall from grace when a leaked dm unveiled the vile side of the young singer’s personality. But with this thrilling Spaceship-debut, he might just be easing his way back to the hearts of music lovers.
