Singer Bella Shmurda of Dangbana Republik just released a new song called “Philo.” On this recently released song, Bella teams up with Omah Lay, one of Nigeria’s most phenomenal artists, who delivered on the album. They exhibit genuine chemistry on this song which makes it a delicious tune for fans.
While Philo is Bella’s follow-up to New Born Fela, this feature follows Omah Lay’s sonically immersive debut album, Boy Alone released two months ago which now has over 125 million combined streams. Both Omah Lay EPs have now each surpassed 60 million streams on Spotify.
On Philo, the singers let us know that there is nothing they won’t do for their lover personified as “Philo”.
Nothing wey I no go do for my philo
Rest on me like pillow
Omo to po, Ten kilo (Ten kilo)
Nothing wey I no go do for my philo
Rest on me like pillow
Omo to dun, Ten kilo (ten kilo)
While, this is supposed to be a love song the lyrics are vulgar. In the end, there is just as much profanity as there is melody.
