Asake delivers PBUY(Peace Be Unto You) with stunning visuals

PBUY(Peace Be Unto You) is Asake’s follow-up to his Sungba remix ft. Burnaboy and his collaboration with Spinall on Palazzo. This song is a solid banger which combines Amapiano with Fuji elements. He had earlier teased the song with a short clip and the words Ehh Help me, Help me, Help me, help me, help me, help me, help me, help me, E dey carry me dey go where I no knowwhich was culled from a video that recently went viral. The melodies kick in at 00:34 with the crowd vocals which instantly elevates the song. The composite synthesis of the instrumentals, chorus, and background voices yields an arrangement that is at once bold, original and electrifying. There is an intentionality and artistry that shines brightly through all of Asake’s works and it is no different for his latest single.

PBUY was written by Asake and Olamide while it was produced by Magicsticks. The video was shot and directed by TG Omori. Asake dominates all his videos with a larger-than-life personality while he delivers his lyrics confidently and energetically. Asake is a graduate of Theatre and Performing Arts from OAU and this perhaps plays a role. He was born for the camera and frames it so perfectly. The storytelling is compelling from the outfits to the set design to the camera angles. We get the men holding one another dancing in an almost 20ft tall library, even the Tornado that appears is a nice addition. The video which dropped in less than 24 hours has over 500k views on YouTube.

With his hit tunes and visuals, no one can deny Asake’s superstar quality. Not many Nigerian artists have had such a breakout with solid bangers and hits dominating the music space in such a short period of time. Asake has had 5 number 1 on Apple Music in the space of 5 months (Omo Ope, Sungba, Sungba remix, Palazzo and Peace Be Unto You) and has now announced an album on the way, MMWTV( Mr Money With The Vibe ).
