After kicking off the year with his dazzling politically charged ‘Allow Me To Rap‘, burgeoning rapper, Abstraktt joins forces with music producer, Jesse Alordiah in a new single titled ‘Guyman‘. This offering officially kicks off the release cycle for their joint project as it is the first single off their soon to be released “Saved Some For Summer” EP.
Produced by Jesse Alordiah, ‘Guyman‘ is a club-friendly jam that finds a playful Abstraktt just having fun over a banging Afropop production laced with Ghanian-highlife elements. The song also interpolates 2baba’s 2004 smash hit, ‘Nfana Ibaga‘ and Tekno‘s ‘Rara‘.

DJ Spinall is well known for his prowess on the turntables. The celebrity who sports his signature traditional cap everywhere he goes is celebrated as one of Nigeria’s biggest DJ’s who can turn to a room full of wallflowers into a sweaty project-x-type party with a couple spins. But Top Boy, as he’s often called, has also recently made a name for himself as a certified hitmaker. Over the years, he has teamed up with some of the country’s biggest and brightest stars to churn out steaming anthems for the streets and clubs. From ‘Baba’ with Kiss Daniel, to ‘Gba Gbe’ with Burna Boy as well as the Wizkid-assisted ‘Nowo’, Spinall has been serving us hits for years. Now, he has joined forces with the rave of the moment, Omah Lay to serve us another uplifting Afropop banger titled ‘Tonight’.
Over the soft and easy afrobeats production laid out by Spinall himself, Omah Lay declares his intentions to just have the time of his life and enjoy his success. Across the first verse, he details his sweet romance with his sweetheart. “I dey for plane, she be pilot” he sings. He confesses that they are just the right fit for one another, “me I be her bad habit o, say she get Acappella for my beat o/ Say she get e paper and I get bic o”.
The second verse is more tailored to his career journey as he soaks in the adulation he’s been getting for a while now. A self-assured Omah Lay also reminds his detractors that he can’t be put down. DJ Spinall describes the record as “a combination of charming, melodic Afrobeats flow…a stimulus for fans to enjoy life and make the most out of all the negatives moments,” and that’s exactly what it plays out to be.

After releasing the heated collab with Boogey Never Enough, ace producer Charlie x – stylized CHx – is back again with another project, this time in collaboration with rapper Paybac: AUTOPILOT.
We see CHx try something different in terms of production on this project; the simpler beats and movements are easy to appreciate and enjoy. Paybac isn’t hesitant to hurl fire on this project either, the storyteller comes uncensored for this compilation of emotion. The album keeps one oscillating between YOLO and a reminisce, and honestly it’s a mix you cannot help but enjoy. More talent comes from artist JazzZ, ODC, Djaji and Gigi.Post Views: 433

On this highly collaborative project, Show Dem Camp is bringing along a host of friends, frequent collaborators and other super gifted acts. Across the album, you’d be hearing the familiar vocal contributions of Funbi, Nonso Amadi, Boj, Moelogo and Tomi Thomas who had all appeared either on Palmwine Music 1 or 2. The Palmwine Music first-timers featured on this project include Tems, Amaarae, Wani, Fasina, Buju and Nsikaka David. In usual practice, the entire project is produced by Spax.
The accompanying annual Palmwine Music Fest, which officially kicked off in 2017 is having its third leg on Saturday, December 28 at the Muri Okunlola Park.
